TitrAn is a cutting-edge active vibration control cutting tool embedded with a piezoelectric actuator and accelerometer. Vibrations generated during cutting are sensed by the accelerometer and then suspended by the actuator using an active vibration control algorithm.

Initial tests showed that this system improves surface roughness by 38%.
